Lean On Me
Pick of the week : "Lean on me" - This movie is all about how a man turns around a school of hoodlums and neglected children from its perishes to its heights. It once again reminded me of how much the world is in need of good leaders. If at all there is one great quality that distinguishes a leader from others - it is the ownership - the responsibility. Common people always want some one to point fingers at. Leaders may look arrogant when they are proud about what they did. You may accuse them of not being modest. But they dont look around to point fingers at. They take control and responsibility of their actions. Morgan Freeman is a class act in that movie.
Some good quotes in that movie
"Discipline is not the enemy of enthusiasm"
"Self respect permeates every aspect of your lives.
If you dont have it for yourselves, you are not going to get it from anywhere."
There is a very good song in that movie - Bill withers - classic song - modified for the movie. Here is the original lines by Bill withers. This is a very good song on friendship and support.
Lean On Me
Lyrics © Bill Withers, sung by Al Jarreau
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on.
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let show
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road I'll share your load
If you just call me
So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
Lean on me...
