Vijay Redemption ... The week end of surprises
This week was a redemption in my life. I surprised myself with so much of events. I did five hours of physical work this week end. I did not take too much of calories in. I watched over the fat. I washed my clothes on Friday. And above all, I had a hair cut ;)
I started Friday evening by a hair cut. The hair stylist, she surprised me by remembering my specifications. She remembered my last visit; which was 75 days before. I didnt expect it the least and rewarded her with a 25% tip.[2 dollars]
After that sankar and me wanted a adventure and we started exploring a different path to our house from the saloon. We missed a turn and we ended up walking for a bit more than two hours which if we had taken the right path should be less than 30 minutes.
Saturday was a good start. I woke up at morning 9:30. Listened to many songs on net. I listened to Illayaraja's instrumentals. Then I called my dear friend. It was very good speaking with her. It was a great way to start a week end. After that I slept again for 3 hours. From evening 6:00 to 2:00 wacthed two movies - Gladiator and GodFather part 3. We accomodated a guest this week in our house. He is assigned to onsite and we gave him the landing in our house. I swam for twenty minutes in the pool.
Today morning I woke up at 8:30; started the day with chess. Lost the game. Then I saw some scenes from Anand movie. After lunch - Chappathi + Brinjal curry - I watched a malayalam movie CID Moosa. It was ok. Then myself and sankar went for a walk in medical drive.
The wind was pleasant. Cool breeze and lush green environment due to the spring break. The Medical centers had good gardens and lawns and it was a very good walk. We walked for 2 hours together. I didnt feel like coming back. Hmmm... Why do certain things have to come to an end?
Life was too quick to respond this time. "For some better things to come". I went for swimming after that. I swam for 30 minutes. It was very pleasant and more satisfying than the walk. But only 50% of the time I crossed the length. But it was just 3ft 6 inches deep... and so no danger.
While thinking on it while lying down on the banks of the pool, I remembered about a joke. One caring but illiterate farmer who happens to be a parent of a boy; going to village school for the first time; checks the boys progress time and again with the old village school master.
First time, the master says he will jump 1/4th of the well. Second time the master says, he will cross half of the well. The third time master says, he has shown good improvement and he will jump across 3/4th of the well. The poor chap flunked in the exams. The farmer was puzzled and inquired the school master that from your reports, it appeared that he was picking up very fast, was improving and doing good. The School master said, my last report was that he will jump across 3/4th of the well. But what use it is if u jump 1/4th or 3/4th of the well; if you dont jump the whole length. You will eventually drown. And that is what has happened. I was correct all the time if you have understood me completely.
This is what in tamil they say as "paadhi kinaru thaandiduvaan, mukkal kinaru thaandivaan etc." and the saying goes as "aanaa muzhu kinaru thaandaama adhanaala enna payan".
Now coming back to the swimming, there is no use if I dont cross the full length all the time because in the real waters, one mistake is all it takes to drown.
